There are two types of metering valves, manual and automatic. Manual valves have no shut off to stop the flow of abrasive. Automatic valves have a mechanisim to shut off the flow of abrasive through the top of the valve. Automatic values are usually pneumatically (use an air line) activated.
Commonly used manual metering valves include: Clemco FSV, Clemco Quantum, Clemco MPV Manual Pinch Tube, Schmidt Micro, Schmidt Micro II (MV2)
Commonly used automatic metering valves include: Clemco SentinelClemco PVR Pinch Tube GritSchmidt Thompson, and Schmidt Thompson II.
